HISTORY OF THE BARANGAY PANAYTAYON

Barangay Panaytayon is one of the biggest barangay within the Tubigon Town. It is located along the coastal area of 5 kilometers from the town of Tubigon, estimated land area of more than 170.5526 hectacres and with a 2,309 total population (2007cencus surveyed).

This barangay was already been existing before the Town Tubigon was declared by the Spanish Civil Government. A brown man believe to be one of the Humabon soldier in Cebu came to barangay around 1817 name Tatang Ayo believed to be the progitor of the Fronteras Clan, the founder of the barangay with his wife know as Oyang Ores.

Barangay Panaytayon before was a place of several thick forest tree big mangroves. Portion of the dry land was covered by sea water during  high tide.  The reason why the barangay was named  PANAYTAYON, come from the word MANAYTAY, because the people are walking in small bridges made of wood, nipa and bamboo's.

Barangay Panaytayon has seven(7) exixting sitio's namedly: Sitio SAN VICENTE, sitio SAN ROQUE, sitio UPPER LOOC, sitio UPPER CAGAY, sitio LOWER LOOC, sitio LOWER CAGAY, and PALAYAN.

BARANGAY PANAYTAYON is the place of loving people. 



           When Francisco Tarle was appointed as a Teniente del Barrio in 1924 the Panaytayon Chapel was reconstructed and it was complete on April 20, 2062 with the support and help of Hermano Mayor Emilio Cabatos.

          The cementing of the Barangay Court used for any occasion was under the direction of Teniente Domingo "Mingoy" Fronteras. Cement and other materials used for the constructionn of the said project was donated by ex-congessman Zafra. The construction of the old Primary School was name Jose Boja Primary School was under the leadership of  Teniente Bartolome Fronteras later  it was name  in honor of the PANAYTAYANON and good leader once elected as Tubigon Vice-Mayor Jose Boja.
